Description

The National Health Service (NHS) in Devon is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Craftsperson to join our dedicated team.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities, ensuring that our systems and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

Carry out maintenance, repair, and installation tasks related to mechanical systems within NHS facilities.
Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, and perform necessary repairs on mechanical equipment such as boilers, plumbing systems, and pipe fittings.
Respond promptly to service requests and ensure that all work is completed efficiently and in accordance with established guidelines and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other team members and provide technical assistance when required.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including documentation of inspections, repairs, and replacements.
Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and keep uptodate with industry advancements.

Requirements:

Possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field. Alternatively, demonstrate extensive experience working in a similar role within the mechanical discipline.
Proven experience working with mechanical systems, including boilers, plumbing, and pipe fitting.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to mechanical maintenance and repair.
Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highquality work.
Flexibility to work on a rotational basis, including weekends and evenings, as required.

The successful Mechanical Craftsperson can choose a temporary or permanent contract.

As a temp you will be paid £20 per hour via an umbrella (PAYE calculation can be provided) or if you decide to accept a permanent contract you will receive £25,147 per annum.
