An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Medicine Business team for a period of 12 months secondment cover, as an Operational Co-ordinator/Administrative Manager.

The role will involve working cross-site.


Support projects in the development of the service and facilitating the change process whilst encouraging others to be innovative and adaptable in their approach to change.

Implement programmes of process improvement and consistent with service strategy.


To manage Medical Secretaries Team Leaders, Medical Secretaries and Administration Teams within the Specialties assigned to them and to be the first port of call for consultants with administration issues.

Management responsibility

  • Management of Medical Secretary Team Leaders and Administration Teams
  • Initial management of HR issues/monitoring e.g. appraisal compliance, sickness management and recruitment
  • Budget management
  • Supply Chain signoff
  • Ad hoc form completion
Performance management

  • Responsible for the letter turnaround performance
  • Support the delivery of targets 18 weeks/Cancer/DMO1 and link with validation teams
  • Support the management of waiting lists
Improvement/service development

  • Modernising the administration function and associated workforce changes
  • IT and system development
  • Contribute to Business Cases regarding administration requirements
Governance

  • Informal PALS concerns in relation to administration
Meeting commitments

  • Attend Patient Access Group
  • Attendance at CMT or specialty meetings
