Roles and Responsibilities

Advising staff and partners

Maintaining data bases of Early Help activity

  • Create contacts within the operating system for outside agencies
  • Attach information from outside agencies to contacts raised in the operating system
  • Monitor the progress of Early Help Plans and Reviews, seeking updates from partner agencies where these are missing

  • Provide data on early help to senior officers for the purposes of reporting and performance management
  • Maintain a database of Child Concern Notifications (CCNs) which come into the EHAAT inbox as part of Operation Encompass

  • Maintain such data bases and spreadsheets of activity as are required (eg Family Group Conferencing, RYPP, Phoenix, training log etc)

Co-ordinating and facilitating the Early Help Allocations processes

  • Act as the single point of contact for children, young people and families referred for early help from the Early Help Service.
  • Ensure information about children and families stepping down from Children's Social Care, or otherwise referred to the EHAAT, is coordinated and collated.
  • Facilitate the fortnightly meeting (or frequency as determined by the senior lead), booking the room, inviting partners, collating and distributing paperwork, minuting the meeting and distributing the minutes.
  • Follow up actions from the meetings in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a data base of cases considered and actions taken.
  • Provide data from this to senior staff for reporting and performance management purposes.

Supporting the work of the Integrated Contact and Referral Team

  • Pass concerns about safeguarding and about early help to relevant officers within the Early Help Services and within Children's Social Care.
  • Update the operating system with any information received in respect of cases which are "triaged" by the Early Help Services.
