Description

11-16 Teaching Assistant

A mainstream school located on the outskirts of Southampton, between Harefield and West End, is currently looking for Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 or small group basis with students aged This role is full-time, Monday-Friday 08:30-15:30 and is term-time only.

The pay rate for this post is £75 - £85 per day dependant on experience.

This role is to start in January 2024.

The school currently has nearly 850 pupils attending, with around 50 of these pupils being on an Education and Health Care Plan.

An EHCP would include educational provisions that need to be made to assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum.

Schools receive additional funding based on the number of pupils they enrol with additional needs, and this is used to invest in additional staffing and resources to increase the outcomes for their most vulnerable students.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting these students in the classroom so they are able to maintain the pace of learning that the curriculum requires.

You may also be working on a 1:1 basis with the students, if they require this additional support.

Some students may have a diagnosis of Autism, Dyslexia, or ADHD, and some may have a reading age that is significantly below what would be expected of a person their age.

As there will be a range of needs displayed across these students, you will need to be adaptable and flexible in your approach to this role.
