Everyone in England deserves a safe, secure and affordable home.

However, decades of funding cuts and short-term policy decisions by successive governments mean that today we are facing a chronic shortage of social housing.

Today, one in every six children is living in an overcrowded home and the number of children homeless and growing up in temporary accommodation is at the highest level ever recorded.

As we head towards the general election, the NHF PR team will lead a major campaign to shine a light on how the shortage of secure and affordable homes is affecting people across the country.

We will call on all political parties to prioritise tackling the housing crisis in their manifestos and commit to a long-term plan for housing that is properly funded and based on measurable outcomes for the millions in housing need.

We need a conscientious and strategic PR Officer to ensure that truly affordable housing continues to get the national attention it deserves.

You will be joining a high-performing campaigning media team that regularly briefs senior broadcast and print journalists and develops major stories from scratch that have been covered on everything from R4's Today programme to The Sun.

We're a proactive and reactive media team, meaning this is a chance to not only build your contacts, but be creative and secure lots of high-profile and meaningful coverage.

You will also get to produce diverse and engaging content for social media to support our campaigns.
