Description
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. Most people don't think too much about how clean water reaches their taps.
But Scottish Water does. In fact, it's all we think about.
Want to join us? As an Ecologist you will support a busy portfolio of capital investment projects and operational activities within our Specialist Services Delivery (SSD) team.
You'll be working closely with the rest of the Environment Team, providing specialised ecology support for various water and waste-water projects in the central belt and south of Scotland.
Expect to spend most of your time out in the field, visiting sites and taking in all the natural beauty Scotland has to offer.
Site visits would usually be covered in a day, but some overnight trips may be occasionally required.
This role suits someone who's already an established ecologist and can handle a mixed portfolio or projects and a dynamic work environment.

Understanding the ins and outs of environmental laws in Scotland is a must, as well as hands-on experience dealing with the construction sector.

Experience collaborating with different groups to boost biodiversity, and professional accreditation from groups like CIEEM or CIWEM would be beneficial.
A specialism in a protected species, such as a licensed bat worker, would be a big plus.Looking out for you
