The Opportunity
To learn the various duties of a Management Accountant and to liaise with various operational teams to provide support and advice


This will entail assisting in all areas of finance and working to ensure accurate, complete and timely information is available across all ledgers whilst providing excellent customer service (internal & external) at all times.


You will work with the Nominal Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and Sales Ledger functions to understand their key roles within our finance function and to ensure excellent customer service is given to both internal and external customers and to othermember of the finance function.

These areas are seen as key grounding to understanding the operations of the business.


Tasks will include:
Contract & Nominal Ledger Responsibilities

  • To understand the function and mechanism of the contract and nominal ledgers within both the finance and operational areas
  • To assist in month end routines including preparation of journals and reconciliation of control accounts.
  • To provide analysis and feedback regarding variances in reporting
  • To assist in the preparation of month end accounts and all elements of monthly reporting both at a company and divisional level.
  • To provide assistance to the Financial Controller and Systems Accountant in delivering new systems/amendments to systems.
  • To assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and the subsequent review of these against actual reported figures.
  • To understand the cash forecasting and provide assistance to the Finance Accountant as required.
Operational Support

  • To understand the various operational systems and provide support in terms of both understanding and delivery of information from those systems.
  • To provide support to the operational divisions in preparing their key information
  • To assist in the preparation of key data for instance price increases, asset investment, budgets.
  • To provide support, assistance and advice as required.
