Head of Finance required for mid sized division of high growth Group

This is an opportunity to join a highly successful group having over doubled in size in recent years and will continue to do so through acquisition.

Whilst reporting to the divisional Financial Director the Head of Finance will gain exposure to the CFO on a day-to-day basis and will play an integral role in taking the business through an ongoing and exciting period of growth. The Division isone of the largest and sits closest to the wider business within the Head office and offers exceptional long-term progression to Financial Director for the division.

Objectives and Responsibilities of the Head of Finance

Job description

  • Acquisition Accounting for businesses that have been recently acquired.
  • Ownership of Integration of recently acquired business to ensure consistency of controls across the division and wider group.
  • Liaison with SSC and Group Finance Team to ensure collaboration.
  • Management, development and hiring of the divisional Finance Team to ensure day to day objectives and reporting deadlines are met and Controls are robust to allow for future growth.
  • Take full responsibility for financial reporting and controls agenda, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • The individual formulate periodical cash flow projections, business plans, capital forecasts, and longterm financial goals
  • They further monitor the payments to creditors, banks, and financial institutions, ensuring the maintenance of the business's integrity.
  • The individual will ensure that generally accepted accounting standards are applied across the financial department and that they are adhered to in the preparation of all financial statements and reports. They will ensure that the business stays compliantin regard to all financial policy and regulations
  • They are further charged with the development and implementation of risk management systems.
  • Be accountable to senior management for all financial reports related queries and judgements.
  • Take responsibility for the financial IT integrity and controls
  • Will manage all Tax matters inclusive of VAT returns

Person specification

  • Qualified Accountant, ideally ACA from a top tier Practice.
  • Keen understanding of financial controls and SOX.
  • Some experience of IT general controls.
  • Prior experience to working within a high growth and complex group finance function
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build relationships within a complex organisation.
