The Opportunity


To lead the delivery of projects to time, cost and specification ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are managed throughout the process.


Functional accountabilities

  • Develop major new build projects during the consenting phase to ensure robust designs and programmes are in place. Management of the programme, budgets, SHESQ and risks and Community Stakeholders to preserve reputation
  • Provide appropriate project input into the presanction design process including review of the proposals for SHESQ management, project risk, deliverability, programme and safety performance
  • Develop and have accountability for implementation and management of project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and postcompletion requirements. Act as single point of contact on behalf of the Project Manager for instructionof works or any changes to these
  • Act as the key interface between the project and both internal and external teams. Hold the responsibility for developing these key relationships
  • Manage and coordinate Contractors and project teams, including the coordination and integration of projects across delivery interfaces, to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with mínimal disruption
  • Provide regular project monthly status reports which will include: SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management and current and forecast financial performance
  • Finance management: forecast vs actuals
  • Ensure all activities and interactions are compliant with Cyber policy & procedures
  • Ensure all data is captured accurately and handled/stored to comply with Cadent Policies & Procedures
  • Participate within the Network Operational Standby rota

Specialist Accountabilities

  • Monitor Contractor site activities to ensure compliance with Gas Distribution SHESQ standards, Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and CDM regulations
  • Manage the Contractor commissioning and performance testing process on site. Ensure the provision of accurate 'as built' documentation to handover of the assets onto the system to the standards defined in the design
  • Manage complex thirdparty issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations, and Community Stakeholders to preserve reputation
  • Chair monthly progress and cost review meetings and regularly attend weekly site meetings
  • Chair/attend monthly coordination and commissioning meetings to preserve reputation
  • Keep the company safe by cooperating with others to ensure a coordinated approach to promote a clear understanding of each party's duties, roles and responsibilities for Safety and Wellbeing
  • Report all incident, near misses, hazards, acting as necessary to control hazard as appropriate

What You'll Bring
We're looking for individuals who hold the following skills and experience


Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree/HNC/SNVQ/NVQ or equivalent operational experience in network engineering techniques supported by relevant training or qualifications
  • IOSH
  • SCO AE & CP
  • APM Foundation level
  • Professional registration (desirable)

Practical Experience

  • 57 years of experience
  • Delivery of engineering projects preferable within the gas industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of gas plant and systems
  • Strong knowledge of Cadent Core Processes
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and tools
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations relevant to role (e.g., PSSR, COMAH, PSR)
