PURPOSE:


As part of the maintenance team, you will play an integral role in ensuring our sites runs efficiently, our guests feel a genuine welcome and a can-do attitude from all our team members.

Providing proactive and reactive maintenance solutions across the sites in a productive approach.

You will support the team to create great memories for all our guests.

As part of the team, you will assist the entire maintenance department, taking responsibility to ensure the very highest level of service are consistently delivered.

You will have responsibility for maintaining in a fast paced environment, to ensure the smooth running of the conference centres for our guests.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure repairs are carried out in response to instruction from the Maintenance Manager, manager on duty or by verbal reports, fault cards received or own observation of disrepair.
  • Execute preventative maintenance in accordance with the schedule and by instruction from the Maintenance Manager to ensure buildings are kept in good condition.
  • Undertake general maintenance/improvement tasks within all areas of the centre.
  • Operate, monitor and maintain boilers and heating systems, ensuring temperature controls and timers are optimised for maximum energy efficiency.
  • Ensure maintenance items are ordered through the Maintenance Manager in a timely fashion to prevent delays. At all times ensure that the best possible prices and discounts are obtained.
  • Assist and support the whole Maintenance Team in the delivery of building projects as required.
  • Working as a team to undertake projects such as painting, decorating throughout the centre and also grounds work with the Gardener-Maintenance Personnel as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, accident reporting (RIDDOR) and risk assessments.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications, education and training:


Essential

  • A recognised technical qualification in a construction trade and relevant experience.
  • Full driving licence that is valid in the UK.

Experience and knowledge:


Essential

  • Proficient in plumbing, joinery, trowel trades, painting and decorating and minor electrical works.
  • Ability to carry out DIY tasks, e.g. fence repairs, slab laying, repairs to gutters and down pipes etc.
  • Confident in the use of decorating tools and machinery.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in hospitality desirable, but not essential.

Skills, personal attributes and behaviours:


  • Confident, selfmotivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised with good planning, prioritising and time management skills. Ability to accurately prioritise work to minimise disruption to the centre.
  • Demonstrates a positive customer focused approach to guests needs and resolves problems quickly.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving problems with the ability to determine when to escalate problems to the Maintenance Manager and when to take ownership and resolve them personally.
  • A good team player
