Our staff are integral to how we do this, and we are now investing in further strengthening our Human Resources team to ensure that our people can deliver the very best experience for our students.

We are looking for a

We offer a generous pension and annual leave provision (40 days including statutory holidays), family-friendly policies and state-of-the-art campus facilities.

We also operate a hybrid working model that allows staff to combine on-site and remote working where appropriate, dependent on work duties.

You will be acting as line manager to our Senior HR Business Partners across the University which will include leading consistency and best practice, as well as contributing to the development of HR policies, procedures and initiatives.

You will work effectively with our Trade Union partners as well as providing support, advice and guidance in the management of complex casework, including the interpretation of employment legislation and the regulatory framework within which the University operates.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, along with a CIPD qualification (likely to be MCIPD).
  • Significant experience in a generalist HR role, operating with a high degree of autonomy and proactivity as a strategic or senior HR Business Partner.
  • Extensive experience in delivering change projects, employee relations and workforce planning and development.
  • Proven capabilities as a leader and manager, with a flexible and inclusive management style appropriate to the complexity and diversity of the University.
  • Uptodate knowledge of UK employment law and best practice approaches in HR including experience in UK Visa and Immigration issues.

We are committed to:

  • Attracting and retaining the best people; developing and supporting them to fulfil their potential, meet their career aspirations and deliver the University's strategy.

All staff are expected to understand and enact the University's commitment to ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion in our employment practice and in all that we do.

This commitment is enshrined in our Core Values and is detailed in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Employment Policy.

The University values and celebrates the diversity of our staff and students; we welcome people from the many different backgrounds and life experiences that reflect the students and the citizens we serve.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and actively encourage unique contributions, in particular from under-represented groups in respect of age, disability, sex, gender or gender identity, ethnicity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or transgender status.
