Description

We are seeking a Medical Statistician to join the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) directed by Professor Gillian Reeves, within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford.

This is an exciting opportunity for a statistician with experience in data analysis and database management.

The appointee will work in close collaboration with epidemiologists from the Unit on the Feeding the Future study (FEED), a collaborative project on plant-based diets.


The main responsibilities will include all statistical aspects of the FEED study and managing and further integrating any enhancements of the FEED dataset.

You will also have the opportunity to be involved in preparing articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and may also contribute to other research projects in the CEU.


You will have a Master's degree in medical statistics or a closely related field combined with substantial relevant work experience.

You will also have a very good understanding of common statistical methods used in medical research and experience in managing databases similar to the FEED study.

Experience of data analysis in epidemiology, public health or similar fields and use of one or more of the standard data analysis software packages (including STATA) is essential for this post.

Experience of working with nutritional data would be desirable.
