We are recruiting to a Newly Qualified Planning Lawyer position working within a highly respected, busy London authority.

Our London Borough client is looking for a Newly Qualified Planning Lawyer on a locum-basis, for an initial 3-month contract withthe likelihood of extension or possibility of permanecy.

The role offers hybrid working, with 1 day in the office per week, and they are looking to pay £ per hour umbrella rate, dependent on experience.

This role is suitable for a Qualified Solicitor,Barrister or CILEX with a keen interest in local government who has relevant legal experience within Planning and Highways law either within local government or the private sector.

The client is flexible on the level of experience and is open to taking someoneon who is bright and shows willingness to learn, they can offer training in any areas with gaps.

The successful NQ Planning Lawyer will join a small team of experienced lawyers who can offer support and guidance.

The responsibilities of the role include, butnot limited to:


  • Providing legal advice to planning and highways teams within the Council
  • Dealing with planning appeals
  • Drafting, negotiating, and concluding section 106 and 278 agreements
