CY Partners have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chemist to join a fast growing CDMO based in the North East.


As a Senior Chemist your work will be spread across stages of development of organic chemistry including medicinal chemistry research, route scouting and selection, process research and development.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Making small quantities of products for sale using standard laboratory equipment.
  • Making large quantities in the 20/25/50L scale up equipment.
  • Help ensure all staff work in an efficient manner.
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Understand the requirements of both internal and external customers, including budgetary constraints and the importance of working to deadlines.
  • Plan, conduct and coordinate projects of any level of complexity


The Senior Chemist will be expected to take a leading role in a team with regard to the practical laboratory work and administration as appropriate to support the needs of the Team Leader.


Requirements:


  • An organic chemist educated to PhD or degree level with appropriate and relevant experience in practical chemistry.
  • Technically competent and acknowledged by others as highly knowledgeable and a reliable source of sound ideas. Competent in the use with online literature research tools.
  • Practically competent with a proven track record in an industrial laboratory environment and experience in a variety of chemistry and purification techniques as well as the use of HPLC, LC-MS, NMR.
  • Ability to lead a project, manage, motivate and develop a team or individuals.
  • Flexible, with the ability and aptitude to work with care and dedication across a range of project types (eg custom preparation, process research, route identification).
  • Good communication skills across a range of media.
  • Good timemanagement, and organisational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in team driven environment or to work alone on single person projects
