Role Profile
This role will ensure that all product manufactured conforms to the design specifications, batch cards and required industry standards.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
- Manually inspect components to required customer standards using key inspection equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Verniers, Faro Arm).
- Operate the CMM (as set by the CMM Programmers) to inspect components and analyse results to ensure adherence to customer standards.
- Conduct independent oversight inspection (e.g. DSQR, DPRV, COP).
- Working with the Engineering team to develop inspection plans.
- Offer improvements to methods of inspection, whilst developing best practice techniques.
- Produce dimensional reports when a FAIR is required.
- Ensure adherence to batch cards, drawings and specifications.
- Working closely with other Operational team to ensure that the factory plan is adhered to.
- Adhere to control measures identified in area Safety Risk Assessment and promote a safe working environment.
- To carry out any other duties that may be necessary to meet departmental objectives.
Person Specification
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Flexible across different components and potential shift patterns.
- Previous aerospace manufacturing and/or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to work within in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate in an effective manner to different levels within the organisation.
