We are looking to recruit an Assistant Transport Planner to join and strengthen our growing Transport Planning team in Norwich.


The role will work closely within our Local Government framework in Norfolk and across the UK, delivering on large multi-disciplinary proposals.

We support Local Government clients with taking proposals through the planning, development, and implementation cycles
- providing the expertise needed to successfully deliver projects. This position is varied and challenging and provides opportunities for you to develop and progress professionally and personally.


Your new role, what's involved?

  • Working on a broad range of transport planning projects, such as the development and design of active travel and public transport schemes, and strategic transport projects
  • Developing your skills in a variety of transport planning disciplines, included but not limited to, microsimulation modelling, junction assessments, feasibility studies, and transport assessments and statements
  • Contributing to client proposals in terms of technical methodologies efficiently collaborating with your team
  • Working in Norfolk on transport projects that can shape the transport network of the future.

Your Team:


The Norfolk Transport Planning team delivers a wide range of transport planning projects for our Local Government clients, as well as an extensive portfolio of multi-disciplinary and cross-sector services.

Our local and regional work is extensive, and the successful applicant will help us deliver a challenging and exciting pipeline of work, predominantly for our Local Government clients, but with the potential to work on wider projects.


You will be supported by senior members of the Transport Planning team, and the wider Local Government framework, including industry leading and government advisory experts.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in contributing to a variety of transport planning projects.
  • Interest in transport data analysis and presentation, as well as transportation software including TRICS or TEMPro and junction modelling programmes (ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig).
  • Desire to gain experience in project management responsibilities, including daytoday operations.
  • A strong ability to work well witin a team environment and independently, and deliver on deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and clear written communication skills for a variety of audiences
