Heaton Norris Health Centre, Stockport

Receptionist / Administrator part time 30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job


The main duties are speaking to patients on the telephone or face to face and directing their inquiries to the most appropriate person, booking appointments, re-issuing prescriptions and dealing with medication requests, liaising with clinical staff, administration duties and all associated tasks.

The role involves working early mornings, late evenings and Saturdays on a rota basis.

Job Summary


Working as part of the Reception/Admin Team to provide the practices front-of-house service and project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors.

Understanding and interpreting patient's needs, resolving queries where possible or signposting patients to the appropriate service or appointment.

Provide a responsive, courteous, calm, and efficient service at all times, to enable and support patient care.

Undertake administration as necessary to support the effective operation of the practice.

Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
