About the role


This role is responsible for providing exceptional supporter care to our donors and fundraisers, developing and delivering community fundraising plans, as well as supporting individual giving income for the charity.

It is an important role within the Fundraising and Communications Department, who are responsible for raising the profile of the organisation and the experiences of those we are here to help, and mobilising support to the cause.


This role will also play a key role in acquiring and stewarding supporters, including individuals taking part in challenge events, community clubs and associations, schools and faith groups, and local businesses, as well as one-off and regular donors.

You will ensure an excellent supporter experience, so that both existing and prospective donors feel valued and informed about the impact our supporters are making.


Salary:
£26,000 to £29,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm

Location:
Hybrid (remote work: 60% and office base: Canning Town, London 40%)


Key responsibilities include:

  • Be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries, providing information, support and materials quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that supporters receive timely and relevant charity updates and thanks, and that all scheduled communications add value to the relationship.
  • Devise, implement and manage communitybased engagement initiatives and events that raise the profile of the organisation and lead to increasing levels of public support.
  • Deliver tailored, confident and engaging presentations suited to a variety of audiences effectively conveying a compelling case for support.
  • Support the Individual Giving and Legacies Officer to develop and implement campaigns and donor journeys.
  • Manage and update supporter records and report on fundraising and engagement activity and performance.

About you
We would like to hear from you if you are:

  • Experienced working in a fundraising environment and achieving financial targets
  • Confident public speaker with the ability to deliver engaging presentations
  • Experience in using a supporter database
  • Understanding of the principles of supporter care
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and build strong working relationships with supporters of all levels
  • Focused and results driven, with a readiness to seize new opportunities and source new ideas
  • Knowledgeable of Code of Fundraising Practice, and fundraising laws and regulations
