Salary Range:
£23,620 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £26,845 per annum

Job Duties:


We are the Shared Internal Audit Service (SIAS) and are proud to be providing high quality services to Hertfordshire County Council, seven district / borough council's and a growing portfolio of Hertfordshire academies.

Now in our twelfth year, we are evolving as a service and would like you to join us on this exciting journey.

Internal auditors deal with issues that are fundamentally important to the security and prosperity of organisations.

We look to analyse and reduce wide ranging risks associated with finance, IT, the impact of our environment and protecting assets.

Internal auditors help organisations to succeed and help keep people safe.

You will work on a variety of assurance and consulting activities. Assurance involves providing an independent view as to how well systems and processes keep things on track. Consultancy activities assist in developing systems and processes, or providing insight for improvement opportunities.


As a trainee, you do not need to have experience of Internal Audit, we are much more interested in you as an individual.

We are seeking motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic people with an enquiring mind, the curiosity to understand how things work, and the desire to make them work better.


Working as part of our professional team, you will acquire excellent interpersonal skills, be able to manage your time and tasks, be able to learn and study for professional qualifications, all of which will help you progress your career with us.

English Fluency:

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).
