Main duties of the job:


The post holder will be responsible for: developing, implementing and monitoring an effective and compliant system of working to ensure robust hospital quality governance; managing the governance staff dealing with all activities relating to patient safety, risk, compliance and audit; acting as a pre-emptive, self-relating practitioner who horizon scans to ensure the hospital/ divisional governance activities remain in line with current best practice; and developing a culture of informed questioning, challenge, trend analysis triangulation, and assurance.

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Masters level qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Business/Project Management qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of further professional and personal development
  • Have leadership/governance qualification

Desirable criteria:


  • Clinical qualification

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Significant experience of leading a quality governance team
  • Significant demonstrable experience in project management in an acute care
  • Ability to collate and analyse statistical and qualitative information for presentation to high level groups
  • Experience of implementing significant change projects
  • Experience of effective working within a team and alone
  • Experience of working with mínimal supervision
  • Knowledge of the components of governance, risk management and assurance function; current NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care
