Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join an established bank that is also on the rise with great plans in place.

The purpose of the role is to lead the Bank's financial reporting and statutory accounting activities including VAT and Corporations tax management.

Perfect for someone who wants to make impact, guide a small team and gain exposure to the wider banking departments.


About the role:

  • Confidence to lead and leverage a small team to deliver superior financial management services to the Bank in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Managing team's daytoday workflow
  • Ensure the financial reporting activities operate within an effective control environment and manage riskrelated processes relevant to the team.
  • Deliver ontime activities concerning the Bank's monthend closing process and reporting.
  • Deliver the halfyear and fullyear group reporting packs, with accuracy and adherence to compliance.
  • Deliver the annual financial statements to ensure an effective and issuefree external audit.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual VAT. returns and oversee the review of the Bank's PESM on a periodic basis.
  • Prepare and review the Bank's Corporation Tax requirements.
  • Manage a horizon scanning and implementation process for developments in relevant factors affecting the Bank.
  • Ownership of Bank's financial software including general ledger, financial statement production, FlexCube and other key systems.
  • Enhance and automate key manual processes as agreed with the Financial Controller.
  • Enhance review processes by delivering additional analysis to support management review of key outputs.
  • Collaborate with the Management Accountant to deliver management reporting to the Bank as necessary.
  • Support the Regulatory Accountant with inputs and regulatory reporting.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong understanding of IFRS standards
  • Project Management experience
  • Processing and procedural knowledge
  • Good attitude and hardworking
  • Experience with improving processes
