Job Overview:


Main Duties
As supervisor your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Providing technical support and leadership and direction to the shift team.
  • Functioning as the principal HV-AP and willing to undertake PS-AP training and appointment.
  • Functioning as a multiskilled leader, responding effectively to critical and noncritical engineering mechanical/electrical failures and events. Following established incident management protocols.
  • Monitor plant status and manage equipment breakdowns. Taking ownership of reparations works to their completion. Escalating issues to the Technical Service Manager, demonstrating actions undertaken to resolved problems.
  • Contributing ideas to help with continuous improvement and development of operational processes and procedures.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders and representing the company in a positive professional manner. Ensuring staff under their control recognize that we work in a service industry, where maintaining good customer service relationships is pivotal. Helping to train, support and coach staff as necessary, in this regard.
  • Managing an inventory of regularly used parts and critical spares. Effectively identifying and ordering parts as needed.
  • Assisting permit manager by adhering to the safe system of work program, controlling contractors, and issuing ATWs and PTWs in the permit manager's absence. in line with company procedures.
  • Providing full technical support and expertise to the entire W1 portfolio, including attending, and/or directing staff to satellite facilities for PPM and reactive tasks as required.
  • Maintaining daily, weekly, monthly statutory and nonstatutory documentation. Carrying out site audits to ensure logs and associated service works remain compliant.
  • Ensuring plant rooms, and other areas under our engineering responsibility/custodianship are kept clean, tidy, and well maintained. Projecting a positive image of the engineering department's management and control.
  • Ensuring staff under their control are undertaking point of work risk assessments and working in line with their RAMS.
  • Ensuring staff under their control are dressed smartly, in the appropriate company uniform, while on duty. Have, and are using, the appropriate PPE for their tasks.
  • Ensuring safety equipment (i.e. eyewash stations, ladder inspections, equipment calibrations, etc) are on an appropriate schedule for inspection, and remain 'in date' and 'fit for use.
  • Enforcing staff under their control adhere to relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with the central help desk team constructively with regards to PPM and reactive task allocations, closures, extensions, and updates.
  • Coordinating/alternating leave periods with the lead engineer, ensuring planned annual leave is not taken at the same time, ensuring the shift team is always with the required leadership and direction.
  • Covering other supervisors on other shifts, if their lead engineers are unavailable (i.e., leave, sickness, meetings, training, and other absences), as needed.
  • Managing the implementation of holiday policies, ensuring shift staffing levels maintain minimum manning levels; remaining conscious of overtime expenditures.
  • Ensuring staff's adherence to the company's absence procedures.
  • Directing, Communicating, and interacting positively with team members to deliver Toolbox Talks, back to work interviews, technical training etc.
  • Work in line with company QSHE policy by ensuring work is carried out safely and to a high standard, as well as report hazards, accidents, and incidents when observed.
  • Responding positively to reasonable requests in support of the contract goals, as may be directed by the Technical Service Manager, other senior management, and the client.

What we are looking for:


  • Technical qualifications in an electrical (preferable) and/or mechanical discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to others and communicate appropriately to people of varying technical abilities and disciplines within the Business and amongst client stakeholders.
  • HV-AP experienced qualified to JPS 375 qualified or willing to undergo the requisite training to obtain the latter qualification. obtain PS
  • AP qualification, with the ability to Maintain/extend both qualifications to enable continuance within the roles.
  • 18th Edition qualified.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work under pressure whilst striving for continual improvements to service delivery.
  • Ability to think outside the box when problemsolving.
  • Providing a positive cando disposition and always looking to improve our service delivery.
  • Knowledgeable of both Mechanical and Electrical building services.
