Working Days and Hours:37.5 hours, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday


Job Purpose:


  • Lead the People Hub Team to codesign and deliver a modern proactive operational People Hub Service (employee relations (ER)) that is aligned to and underpinned by the holistic 'just and learning' principles. This will enable the organisation to be inclusive,flexible and learn through the transformation of its people practice and people policies demonstrating that wellbeing is at the forefront of its conscience and practice
  • Play a key role in the People Directorate to influence and contribute to the delivery and implementation of operational and strategic People objectives outlined in Our People Promise
  • Take responsibility and accountability for designing a framework of people policies and supporting development and training that are aligned to the principles of a 'just and learning' culture (in line with Our People Promise) and influencing the wider PeopleDirectorate
  • Deputise for the Associate Director of People

Duties

  • To develop a modern People Hub service that will contribute positively to enhance the experience of our colleagues at work, which in turn will have a positive impact on the experience of members of our communities who use our health and care services
  • To play a key leadership role in the programme of work that will implement and embed the principles of a 'just and learning culture' throughout the organisation, positively impacting the overall culture within the organisation
  • Be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a modern framework of people policies (ER) that are in alignment with the wider framework of embedding a 'just and learning culture' in all aspects of organisational life
  • Be accountable for driving and influencing process change, redesign, efficiency and productivity across People Hub Services that will contribute to the delivery of one of the key objectives of Our People Promise
  • Be responsible for driving the production of useful and insightful management information from People Hub activities, that can be used across the People directorate to inform prioritisation of organisation development, leadership and management trainingand activity
  • Developing and implementing a suite of offers for the reward and recognition of colleagues throughout the organisation
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of ER helpline contract with GPs, ensuring all key performance indicators (KPI's) are met, exploring other opportunities through expanding the People Hub service offer to external organisations that could lead toincome generation

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to a Master's level in HR field or equivalent work experience and knowledge in a range of areas e.g. Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Equality and Diversity, Learning and Development
  • Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Member (MCIPD) or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in improving performance and measurement through KPI's
  • Demonstrable experience in change management in large, complex organisations
  • Previous experience in presentations to large and small hostile audiences and facilitation of agreement between stakeholders using a variety of communication techniques
  • Up to date knowledge of key issues in people practice through local, regional and national networks understanding potential impact on the Trust
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, with examples of leading very complex cases working in partnership with staff side representatives and stakeholders in conflict
  • Demonstrable leadership experience, including management of a team in a challenging environment with shifting priorities
  • Welldeveloped experience in implementation of People strategy into practice, change management and transformation
  • Demonstrable experience in the strategic management of employment tribunal claims including liaising with external legal professionals, ACAS, professional bodies etc.
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to draw conclusions from a wide range of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of formal and informal purposes
  • Strong strategic influencing and negotiating skills on complex and sensitive issues
