Metalis are working with a world class
steel casting company who design and manufacture components for various industries such as
defence and
rail.

I'm currently recruiting for a
Foundry Maintenance Fitter to join the team on on a permanent and full-time basis.

The Role

Immediately responding to
breakdowns, carrying out
fault diagnosis, and carrying out
repairs in a safe and timely manner.

Installing new machinery

Carrying out Planned Preventative
Maintenance:
Providing technical support within the team
Demonstrate sound general knowledge of, and comply with, the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation
Demonstrate extensive experience in using own initiative to identify
mechanical faults and carry out
repairs:
Demonstrate a strong general knowledge of
Foundry /
Heavy industrialmachinery
Be comfortable working at height using either access equipment or climbing ladders to fixed working platforms
Be proficient in operating
workshop machinery (Pillar Drill, Pedestal Drill) as well as various handtools
Be proficient in
fabrication and
welding (basic installation and repairs)
Be proficient in carrying out fault finding and repairs on
Pneumatic and
Hydraulic systems
Be proficient in
pipefitting, both
installation and
repairwork:
Be capable of reading pneumatic, hydraulic and
engineering drawings

Qualifications / Preferable Experience Required

Have completed Mechanical Engineering
Apprenticeship:
ONC,
NVQ level 3 minimumHave at least
5 years' previous experience as a Fitter, within a similar industrial environment
Experience on Overhead Cranes, Shell Moulding equipment, high frequency furnaces, injection moulding, sand mixers.

The Package

£16.50 per hour plus
£25.00 per week shift allowance
