Lead Trainer, Zertus UK & Ireland - Kinnerton / Humdinger

Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16: hours per week)

Based at a Humdinger or Kinnerton location
Zertus UK & Ireland is made up of Humdinger Foods, Kinnerton Confectionery, Lir Chocolates.

We manufacture a range of products within the snacking and chocolate categories and have various manufacturing sites and offices across the UK and Ireland.

We're seeing a
Lead Trainer to join the business.

This is an active, hands-on training role responsible for the delivery, assessment and evaluation of effective training at your dedicated site to meet all compliance and people development needs.

You will work alongside stakeholders within the factory/operational teams to maintain compliance levels within the business and ensure staff have the skills and knowledge to perform in their role.


As Lead Trainer, you will also support all trainers across the business and will act as a point of contact for the team's development and accountability for delivering the sites training requirements.


Responsibilities:


Site Training Responisibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver training as identified for roles inc. Food Safety, Allergen, Equality & Diversity, Integrity, etc. and ensure this training is kept relevant and in line with business needs
  • Perform validation to ensure that staff are using the learning on the job.
  • Support the development of training plans across Shift Teams to maintain mandatory compliance and build training plans for keeping skills at a necessary level.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Plant Manager on training compliance for their respective teams.
  • Operate and maintain the Learning Management (LMS) system ensuring accurate records are maintained for traceability and training is kept up to date
  • Deliver training needs around new projects / machinery etc to site employees.
  • Perform assessment activities to ensure that staff have retained the knowledge from the learning.
  • Develop learning solutions to meet the site's needs.
  • Work with the business to ensure compliance levels are maintained at agreed attainment levels.
  • Act as a point of contact for colleagues who may wish to discuss learning matters.
  • Assist in maintaining learning KPIs.
  • Assist in maintaining the LMS, ensuring that all content is up to date, relevant and assigned correctly.
  • Partner with SMEs in the design and execution of mandatory training and policy review.
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic engagement of our learning platform.
  • Coordinate mandatory compliance training for new starters and competence verified within 12 weeks of commencement of employment.
  • Write, review and amend SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and OPLs (One Point Lessons). Update Document Control Systems and Site Training to reflect latest document revisions. Train pertinent personnel on the latest documents and modifications.
  • Explore new ways to engage and reach our employees.
  • Research emerging industry trends, new technologies, concepts and performance techniques.

Team Lead Responsibilities

  • Act as a main point of contact for all site trainers to ensure they are delivering the needs of the site they are providing training to.
  • Ensure the site trainers are performing all tasks to the adequate standard and following site and function processes.
  • Approve invoices from training providers as per agreements.
  • Maintain service agreements with training systems and suppliers.
  • Explore and investigate different sources of training to ensure the right training outcome and value for money is achieved.
  • Support managers and site training coordinators to ensure training is accurately recorded in the LMS including alignment of training needs for roles, SOPs, certificates and competency assessments and that data integrity is maintained.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for onsite trainers creating a united team of trainers with team sessions and support
  • Provide effective stakeholder management to site operational teams across the market unit to ensure a high level of service is provided from the training function.
  • Drive training requirements across the market unit as part of the L&D strategy.
  • Deliver market unit training projects as directed by their manager.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Trainer Certificate.
  • Experience in managing a Learning Management System.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Ability to create team spirit and motivation.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and put into practice improvement ideas.
  • Excellent working knowledge of allergen awareness and food manufacturing processes.
