Regional Warehouse General Manager

_Warehouse & Distribution _

Crewe (Regional, 3 North West locations)

£55,000 - £65,000 (flexible depending on experience)

Monday - Friday, Days


I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Regional Warehouse General Manager to join a large family run business who specialise within the General Haulage, pallets and storage sector.


They are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the regional warehouse team to deliver a "right first time service", ensuring Operational excellence and a safety first philosophy is embedded within the culture.

Manage the regional warehouses to achieve high levels of performance, service & quality.

Develop a strategic plan aligned to the Networks direction, to lead change through a continuous improvement strategy and to drive a culture of performance through engagementof people.


  • Multisite warehouse management experience
  • Previous experience within 3rd party logistics and operations
  • Proven experience within a similar warehouse general manager position
  • Lean Six sigma, Continuous Improvement and Change Management experience is highly desirable
  • A solid understanding of supply chain logistics
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation
  • NEBOSH qualification desirable
  • A understanding of HGV transport haulage operations is highly desirable
  • Tenacious, resolute and people focused
  • Logical & analytical with the ability to use intuition to determine the right route forward
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • PC Literate with strong presentation skills
  • Previous experience within repacking and copack operations is desirable
  • Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading the Regional Team ensuring that clear direction and sound operational management deliver Operational excellence & Customer satisfaction.
  • Develop Regional Operational capability ensuring that the Structure, systems, resources & operational infrastructure are aligned with the businesses evolving requirements.
  • Embed Operational excellence across all locations, delivering a right first time ethos.
  • Ensure that a Continuous Improvement strategy is realised across the region delivering ongoing improvements & an empowered Warehouse Team.
  • Driving the concept of Safety first across the Network, engaging cross functional Teams to deliver an ever improving safety culture.
  • Ensure that the Warehouse function is aligned to the voice of the customer & delivers in line with and beyond their expectations of service, quality & cost.
  • Develop and deliver robust plans which ensure the delivery of Service, Quality & flex based costs. Ensure that suitable contingencies are identified based upon sound risk analysis.
  • Drive performance through KPI's, the use of management information and analysis which provides clear & logical actions.
  • Own the people plan for the Region ensuring that engagement is a key focus of the regional team always moving towards and engaged and empowered Team.
