    About the role:
Great Britain's electricity system is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation.

Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.


The role holder will work with the Head of People and the FSO team to support the delivery of the people and initiatives support the delivery of the enterprise operating model for FSO.

You'll play a key role in delivering insight and working collaboratively across the business to ensure the smooth delivery of People projects, supporting People initiatives, and presenting their value and importance in driving the business forward to achieve its goals.


You will be working in conjunction with the Exec in an agile fashion, as well as liaising with wider business stakeholders, establishing relationships and effective cross team collaboration, to become a trusted partner.

You'll need to be able to visualise, plan and communicate with credibility, to ensure high engagement and alignment with Exec stakeholders.


This role can be based from Wokingham or Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.

We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

Becoming the Energy Future System Operator
As you may have seen the Government and Ofgem have asked the ESO to take on new roles and responsibilities


Becoming the Energy Future System Operator is a critical step to help deliver a reliable and clean energy transition for all.

The ESO, including all of its existing roles, will be at the heart of the new Future System Operator, taking on additional roles with a whole energy system mindset to drive progress towards net zero while maintaining energy security and minimising costs for consumers.


The new organisation will be set up as a public corporation with operational independence from government - bringing parties together to support optimised decision making and action.

As now, it will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements. It is anticipated that the new organisation will be up and running by or in 2024.

The time to act on climate change is now.

Key accountabilities:


  • Developing and managing the People project plan lead key activities in this plan and associated sprints and sub projects, risks and dependencies.
  • Ensuring cohesion of operating model, policies and processes and their alignment with the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Sharing strategic insights in deliberations with the executive team and senior leaders.
  • Identifying daytoday operational issues that can be fixed forward and incorporated into the delivery plan.
  • Ensuring costs are forecasted accurately and are continually reviewed against budget expectations
  • Leading and/or facilitating discussions with Exec and stakeholders to establish scope and critical success factors.
  • Implementing and managing compliance efforts with all the employment laws and regulations that govern the private companies relating to all aspects of the employee life cycle.
  • Leading the project team through all phases of the project, from initiation through closure.

About you:


  • Strategic insight and experience of bestinclass operating models, policies and processes.
  • Experience of Target Operating Model & Organisation design, and building of people functions.
  • Previous experience designing models that add value to the business, and benefits external stakeholders as well as employees, that's simple and effective, enabling our employees to focus on the valueadd activities
  • Current knowledge of industry trends and employment and the ability to identify trends that could impact the organisation objectives.
  • Experience working in similar organisations would be desirable.
  • Strong Experience of Strategic HR business partnering.

What you'll get:

A competitive salary between £70,000 - £78,000pa - dependent on capability.
