Repair Surveyor

  • We currently have an opportunity for a Repair Surveyor to join our Subsidence Team. You would be based at home but working closely with other team members and service providers. You will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of domestic/ commercial subsidence claims that are within their repair phase, from preparation of repair schedules through to conclusion of the repairs, ensuring the delivery of both quality service and workmanship from contractors.
  • You will have:
  • Ideally have surveying/ engineering degree or HND and looking to obtain chartered status e.g. MCIOB, MRICS, MICE and ideally an insurance qualification, though not essential
  • A detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings and their suitable repairs
  • An ability and confidence to recognise and diagnose the causes of damage between subsidence damage and nonsubsidence damage of buildings and structures
  • An understanding and knowledge of repair techniques to damaged buildings and their causes, particularly in respect of subsidence damage
  • Experience of insurance claims handling would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be given
  • Experience in handling and the resolution of complaints would be advantageous
  • The ability to be decisive in resolving matters, an appreciation of the importance of delivering outstanding customer service, and excellent communication and empathy skills
  • A good working knowledge of IT and most Microsoft packages
  • Knowledge of CDM and Party wall legislation
  • The ability to work in a homebased role but closely with a remote team of support staff and other colleagues, as well as manage and plan your own workload whilst delivering professional advice to both claimants and insurers
  • Experience of working to tight timescales and meeting client specific SLA's
  • The requirement to travel and visit claimants is essential
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
