ABOUT LAYLA
We are a neighborhood bakery in Ladbroke Grove serving sourdough, pastries and coffee. We make everything from scratch and bake it fresh each morning. In the evenings we host private events with a seasonal sourdough pizza menu.

We use Assembly's House Blend coffee and Good and Proper Tea.

Our drinks menu also includes house made lemonade, freshly squeezed orange juice, chai lattes, iced tea, seasonal shrub and cold brew coffee in warmer months.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This is a full time role of up to 48 hours per week. We are looking for an experienced and skilled baker with great attention to detail, efficiency and cleanliness.

You will ideally have at least 1 year's experience in a high volume baking environment with both pastry and bread making experience.

Salary will be based on experience starting from £26,000-£29,000 per year.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Making and baking produce to the highest level of quality and consistency expected daily
Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products and ensures its proper storage and refrigeration
Work with passion and efficiency at all times
Work well with the other members of the team including front of house and baristas
Keep track of stock throughout the day and inform the Head Baker if products are low or out of stock
Comply with food safety and health and safety regulations and ensure these are upheld at all times
Keep spoilage/waste to a minimum by utilizing proper quantities and rotating products: FIFO
Utilize any and all leftovers into usable products: when or where applicable, check with Head Baker
Maintain bakery clean and tidy throughout the day, sweep the floor, clean baking equipment such as ovens, refrigerators and others
Cleans workstations and ensures all equipment is sanitized and prepped for next shift
Make sure equipment, products and everything else is kept in its correct place
Assist bakers whenever necessary
Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns and performing preventive maintenance and report any breaks or need for repairs to the Head Baker and Manager
Suggest recipe alteration, new and innovative products or anything you'd see fit to improve the bakery or its products: report to the Head Baker
Enroll in training with the Team whenever necessary
Learn the basics on how to use the till: sales, refunds
Jump on the till and serve customers whenever FOH or Barista are busy/on break or in any other circumstance where necessary to do so
Adhere to basic food hygiene and safety in the workplace rules
Look presentable, tidy and clean whilst on shift
Professional, hardworking, customerfocused attitude
Represent and promote the Layla brand
