About the role:The Local Environment Services is a group within Ceredigion County Council that delivers a range of services to the communities of Ceredigion. To assist with the delivery of these front line services we are looking for 5 enthusiastic people to join our Grounds Maintenance team for a fixed period from beginning of March to the end of October.


We are currently looking for 3 people to join the team based at Bryn-Y-Mor nursery in Aberystwyth and 2 further vacancies in Penrhos Depot near Llandysul.

Activities you would be expected to undertake is included grass cutting, shrub bed maintenance along with assisting with all works in the councils cemeteries.


The post holders will have a supporting role within in a team carrying out a range of activities across a number of locations.


On a day to day basis you will:

  • Carry out checks prior to using battery and petrol powered equipment and check all hand tools are fit for purpose.
  • You will be required to work on your own for part or whole days depending on the teams work load for the week/day.
  • Be expected to work irrespective of the weather conditions.

We are looking to recruit individuals:

  • Who enjoys working in the open air and is accessible to the public.
  • Have a full driving licence.
  • Have experience of similar physical work.
The post requires a limited degree of fluency in the Welsh language.
