Description

We are the South West's leading Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) providing finance to smaller businesses that can't find the support they need from their bank.

We are seeking a new Start Up Loans Officer to join our busy and friendly Start Up Loans Team.

As Start Up Loans Officer you will be providing support and guidance to help new and early-stage business owners to unlock the funding they need to take their businesses to the next level.

This is an exciting and rewarding role that comes with a 'feel good' factor, as you will play a key part in helping entrepreneurs realise their business ambitions.

As part of this, you will be reviewing a high volume of loan proposals from a diverse range of start-ups - no two days will be the same.

You'll need to be a self-starter with a strong work ethic that enables you to adapt quickly to many different types of applicants and proposals.

You will have good analytical skills to quickly become confident with reading and interpreting a set of accounts and business plans.

You will need to be comfortable working in a team environment.

Full training will be provided alongside support with your continuous professional development. You will have the opportunity to progress within the team and gain your own lending discretion.

This role could be well-suited to a recent graduate seeking to progress a career in the finance industry, but it could also be suitable to those with transferrable skills who might like to try something new.

This is hybrid home/office position with at least one day a week at our Truro office.

You will be:

  • A selfstarting, people person, able to relate to diverse client groups
  • Highly organised approach and an analytical mindset
  • Committed to achieving personal targets
  • An adaptable team player, able to contribute to team goals
  • Strong time management skills, able to plan and organise your diary
Starting salary c.£26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
