Mechanical Design Engineer

Southeast, Kent (Hybrid working available)

£350.00 Per day


The Successful Design Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to -

  • Responsible for the interpretation of clients' requirements in the design phase of projects.
  • Working as part of a multidiscipline team, to develop the mechanical design aspect of projects
  • Liaise with the Company's subcontractors during construction, commissioning and hand over on turnkey projects and ensure that subcontractor personnel are properly briefed and where required, supervised and adequately trained to complete the specifiedwork
  • Ensure compliance throughout the development of assigned projects with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations
  • Provide technical support and liaison with the Company's clients
  • Participate in design/process reviews for products as required
  • Assist in the development of project specific H&S/CDM documentation in line with all relevant legislation and industry best practice
  • Engage in problem solving and brainstorming, both individually and as part of the design tea
  • Maintain and update electronic files, using electronic document management software
  • Keeping up to date with changes to applicable UK and European legislation
  • Keeping up to date with technological advances and new products
  • Undertake any other such duties considered to be commensurate with the experience of the post holder and the requirements of the post
  • Natural aptitude to logical problem solving
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally with colleagues and clients
  • Understanding of engineering drawings
