LEEDS WELCOME HOST

BACKGROUND

LeedsBID's Welcome Hosts are a vital part of Leeds' on street presence and a key welcome to visitors of the city.

LeedsBID was established in 2015 and is a not-for-profit organisation in the centre of Leeds, committed to delivering new and vibrant projects to meet the aspirations of levy payers and the business plan.

THE BASICS

• Contracted. Full, Part time and seasonal roles available. The role includes weekend working.
• Flexible hours and 5 days over a 7day week

Salary £21,255 -£23,000 FTE

The role will be based in Leeds city centre, on street all year round. Uniform, equipment & training will be provided.


THE ROLE

• Provision of a warm, welcoming, on street visitor info service in Leeds city centre.
• To include city information, directions, advice, assist at LeedsBID events
• Report to Welcome Team Leader

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

• You will have a depth of knowledge of Leeds, be ambassadorial, friendly, and knowledgeable about LeedsBID's remit.
• You will be able to respond to requests for information and direction, whilst promoting Leeds as a great place to do business, visit, work and live.
• You will have strong people skills. You will be engaging, warm and comfortable with a range of people, being able to deal with all circumstances on the street.
• You will be a strong communicator and be wellmotivated.
• You will hold a valid driving license to be able to operate the LeedsBID electric vehicle(s)
• You will be a selfstarter and problem solver, using initiative to identify issues and share where appropriate.
• You will be organised, with good time management.

DESIRABLE

• Language skills will be an added benefit
• Previous experience in eg. customer service, tourism, hospitality will be an advantage
