Our recently approved Master plan will see an initial investment programme of £265m over the next five years, with further major investment up to 2032.

The University and its Estates & Facilities Directorate is undergoing a period of sustained change as we look to modernise and digitise our services, processes, systems and procedures to meet the demands of the changing internal and external environment.


The role of the Estates and Facilities Directorate is to support delivery of the University of Hull's strategic plan by providing world class facilities that are sustainable, functionally suitable and well maintained across the Estate which is circa 250,000m2.


Estates and Facilities are looking to recruit 5 cleaners who will help to deliver business goals and provide the very best service to University of Hull students.

As a cleaner within Student Central, you will be responsible for maintaining an agreed standard of cleanliness throughout the building this includes a pub dining area and a night club.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Post

  • Provide cleaning and waste management services, working as part of a team five days out of seven, maintaining a working culture that maximises customer service, staff engagement and staff morale.
  • Deliver cost effective, compliant cleaning and waste management in Student Central.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
  • Experience of working in a similar environment is advantageous although not essential, as appropriate support and training will be given.

Working Pattern
The positions are for 52 weeks of the year and working pattern varies between each role.

The positions available are; x2 25 hours per week mon to fri 6am - 11am ,1x 15 hour Thursday, Friday & Saturday 6am-11am (enhanced pay on weekend), 1x 15 hour Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 6am - 11am (enhanced pay on weekend) and 1x 5 hour 6am - 11am Saturday.
