Ink Development Scientist - Project Leader

Harlow

Competitive salary depending on experience

The Role:

To work as part of a laboratory based team, to formulate and develop new security products for Offset, Intaglio and Letterpress printing.
To plan and carry out project work and experimentation. This may involve providing support, training and guidance for junior technical staff.
To provide development support to maintain existing products throughout their lifecycle
To carry out evaluations of new and alternative raw materials
To set up new ink formulations and ensure smooth transfer into production, assisting with QA as required
To attend press trials as required. This may involve travel in both the UK and overseas which may be at short notice.

What you'll need:

A minimum of three years laboratory experience of product formulation and transfer into manufacturing
Degree in Chemistry / Physics or similar related discipline
A background in ink, coatings or polymer chemistry is strongly preferred
Proven experience in leading R&D projects
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong initiative and focus on achieving technical results and meeting customer requirements
