An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCA to join our friendly and hard-working team on our Frailty admission unit within our Trauma and Orthopaedic department based at the QMC.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring HCA to support our registered staff in delivering the highest standard of care to our patients.

Applicants who are shortlisted will be required to do a short literacy and numeracy assessment prior to interview.

Main duties of the job

Your role will include supporting the registered staff with patient care and assessments which will include (after training) basic observations, venepuncture and E.C.G.s.

A caring and kind person with an understanding of how to reduce the stress and anxiety people have about coming into hospital will be essential for this role


You will also be required to facilitate the daily routine of a busy unit and support our wider multi-disciplinary team.

Your role will include supporting the qualified staff with patient assessments and general patient care (please see full Job Description).


You will also be required to welcome patients onto the unit, escort them for tests if needed and ensure their experience is a good one.

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
