CONTRACT CNC Miller - Setter/Operator

3-6 month contract

Location:
Northampton

Hourly rate:
£28 - £30 per hour Ltd

What does the role involve?

EMBS Engineering is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering business that specialises in the manufacture of small to medium sized, complex, safety-critical components for a number of market-leading OEM's within high profile markets.

Located in Northampton, due to increased orders, our client is looking to recruit skilled CNC Millers to join their business on a contracting basis.


Responsibilities include:

  • Run proven programs, adjust work and/or tool coordinates and correct any errors
  • Set tools and produce a 'First Off' part to correct quality standard
  • Carry out 1st off inspection from engineering drawings and update paperwork
  • Ensure the cell output is made to the agreed schedules
  • Ensure the quality of the machine output is to required specification

What experience do you need?

  • Proven CNC Milling experience
  • Strong capabilities in setting and operating multiaxis (3 & 4) CNC Milling using Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls
  • Ability to set and operate Agie Charmilles, Matsuura, Bridgeports and/or Mazak machines would be beneficial but not essential
  • Previous background of machining small to medium sized precision components for high profile industries including; Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Medical or any other advanced manufacturing sectors
  • Comfortable performing multiple set ups per day
  • Confidence in performing self inspection of parts using manual measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Worked with small to medium batch sizes

  • Various hours available: Flexible start and finish times and choice of 4 or 5 day week
  • Overtime available after 40 hours at basic rate
