  • Hexcel is currently seeking a temporary Safety Data Sheet Author for our Duxford, UK location.
  • The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Conduct hazard classification and author Safety Data Sheets to meet global regulatory standards (GHS) and country-specific regulations.
  • Compile extended Safety Data Sheets (eSDS) to meet requirements of REACh Regulation, Annex II.
  • Manage the issue and distribution of revised Safety Data Sheets.
  • Manage customer adhoc requests for Safety Data Sheets.
  • Become an expert user of Hexcel's SDS and H&S labelling software systems.
  • Develop regulatory content for multilanguage health and safety labels.
  • Maintain critical Product Safety information in the Company's ERP system and intranet site.
  • Follow formal management of change procedures when updating product safety documentation to reflect regulatory changes and amendments to raw material hazard classification.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement projects implementing enhancements
  • Qualifications:
  • A relevant degree (Chemistry, Environmental Science, Health and Safety or equivalent), with work experience in a product regulatory affairs/stewardship.
  • Knowledge of GHS hazard classification, Safety Data Sheet compilation and H&S labelling/packaging requirements.
  • General knowledge of REACh Regulation.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to design and deploy detailed plans.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of establishing/manipulation of databases and document management systems.
  • Able to work in a high energy, rewarding business with regulatory and stakeholder deadlines, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Functions well independently and is selfmotivated. Works with minimum supervision.
