Description

As a Head Chef at Sodexo, you will have the opportunity to utilize your culinary expertise and leadership skills to manage an entire food and beverage production service for our armed forces personnel.

You will be responsible for leading the culinary operation, providing support to the production team, and directing preparation duties to the sous chef, commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the culinary operation and provide support for the production team
Direct the preparation duties to the sous chef, commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff
Arrange on and off duties for all staff, ensuring a great work/life balance
Ensure strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and monitor sanitation practices to ensure that kitchen staff follow standards and regulations
Function menu planning
Follow a set military dining menu and the weekly rotations of this
Improve and maximize the use of existing stocks where necessary
Manage stock, oversee meal presentation, and liaise with the client for requests
Work with the FOH management team to drive service excellence
Ensure your team is fully trained and refreshed regularly to the client/Sodexo's standard

Your Skills and Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment
IT skills, great technical communication, and experience with Microsoft packages
Vast knowledge of food production methods
The ability to monitor your own performance and that of your colleagues

40 hours per week
5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts between 5:30am - 9pm but flexibility needed for occasional functions
