About the role
What you'll be doing
Join us as an Mechanical Estimator and you'll be supported to take the initiative, grab every opportunity and make big things happen
This will involve:
- Ensuring tenders/Cost Plans are prepared & submitted in accordance with client requirements in terms of content, format and timescales.
- Working as part of a collaborative team during PCSA to achieve client budget, providing accurate cost data and advise around suitable market alternatives to maximise client value.
- Produce accurate, competitive, error free, thorough, well researched tenders / bid proposals in a standard format, whilst maintaining estimating files and records as required complying with Gated Lifecycle, Bid Governance and Audit requirements.
- Provide a pre and post contract estimating service to meet profit, quality and service objectives through communication with the strategy & business development, commercial, operational, procurement, finance, insurance and legal functions, and a clear understanding of clients' tender requirements.

To join us as an Mechanical Estimator, you'll need:
- Experience in a similar role
- Understanding of Risk & Opportunity analysis
- Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable but not essential
- Good financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation accurately
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Familiarisation with Estimation bid software
- Experience in preparation of budget Cost Planning
- Experience of managing Mechanical/Electrical Estimates on projects with M&E values up to circa £50M
- A strong background in various sectors such as Healthcare & Education
- Familiar with bid scope of projects including HV/LV Switchgear, Containment, Lighting, Power, Alarm Systems, CCTV etc
- Experience in working with document storage systems such as Sharepoint, Business Collaborator etc an advantage
- Good financial acumen
- The eye for detail needed to analyse complex data and documentation and the ability to communicate this clearly
- Experience gained in a similar estimating role
- An understanding of risk and opportunity analysis
- To be proficient in estimating software, such as CANDY
