Required for September 2023
Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford.

Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building, purpose-built Science Centre opened in 2017 and extensive sports facilities.

We are looking to appoint a suitably experienced After School Care Supervisor to support the After School Care Manager in providing care and supervision of the pupils attending our after school provision.

For the above role, the successful applicant should have experience of supervising groups of children or young people, excellent communication skills, the ability to promote positive values, attitudes and behaviours and an awareness of the needs of children across a variety of differing ages.

Normal hours of work are 12.5 hours per week, 3.45pm to 6.15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (including inset days).

However, you will need to be flexible in regard to the finishing time on occasions until all children have been collected.

In return, we can offer a friendly working environment, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme, access to the school's library, a generous pension scheme, free lunches (in term time) and free parking.

If you feel you have the right mix of skills and experience, together with a desire to provide a caring and supportive atmosphere for our students, then we would like to hear from you.

Closing date:
Tuesday 25 July 2023

Interview:
Tuesday 1 August 2023

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview.
