The role:


The Mid-Senior Designer will play a key role in the creation and executions of the Clarins retail estate across all UK projects including Outlets, concessions, spas, pop ups, Independents, and stand-alone stores, reporting to the Senior Store Design & Visual Merchandising Manager.


What you'll do:


Mission 1:
General Duties


  • You will be the lead on creating new design store concepts, collaborating with internal teams to ensure Clarins cohesive brand experience in all doors.
  • Working across all store types in the UK market, from standalone stores to furniture, fittings and equipment detailing, ensuring consistency, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Researching and reviewing materials and finishes that are new to market.
  • Presenting new design concepts to key stakeholders within the business to share ideas, renders and inspiration.
  • Provide feedback to in store teams on overall execution of standards and understanding of design features.
  • Cost engineer designs to ensure they fit within retail budget set.
  • Produce detailed design packs for all new installations, including 3D renders and digital material board.
  • Maintain filing system to log all store design documents in Store Design folder.
  • Research new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing.
  • Provide design packs for tendering process, and for retailer approvals.
  • Attend site for key installations to align with shopfitters.
  • Visit key shopfitters and suppliers to review key designs and sign off prototypes.

Mission 1:
Employee Relations


  • Works in partnership with Visual Merchandising team to ensure designs align with planograms.
  • Support VM with ADHOC projects when required.
  • Work closely with Project Co-Ordinator to align on timelines and costs for each project.
  • Support Senior SD & VM Manager with analysis of new potential store locations to check feasibility.
  • Present new design concepts to Marketing Director for feedback.

You are:


  • Customeroriented, resultsoriented, passionate about our brand and challenges, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent communicator and able to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and retailers.
  • Passionate about retail design, with a knowledge of competitors and innovative design and trends.
  • Strong negotiation skills to cost engineer designs and to ensure projects stay within budget provided.
  • Agile to everchanging priorities.
  • Well organised and strong at multitasking projects at different stages.

You have:


  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 3 Years of Retail Design experience.
  • Experience in in Vectorworks.
  • Proficiency in Cinema 4D or Sketch up.
  • Confidence working with Photoshop or Illustrator.
