Talk, Listen, Change is a national relationships charity.

TLC supports people to improve their emotional wellbeing and personal resilience through safe, healthy, happy relationships. They offer counselling and therapy, family mediation, and domestic abuse support with a specialisation in people who cause harm.

TLC hosts a team of over 150 staff, 12 trustees, and additional volunteers. In 2023, TLC expanded their reach and set a goal of supporting safe, healthy, happy relationships nationwide.

  • Fixed Contract for 16 months. April 2024 until August 202
  • Hours 4 days (29.6 hours) per week to be worked with the Creative Design Lead and wider TLC marketing Team. 1 day (7.4 hours) independent learning and development time.

As the Graphic Design Apprentice, you will be involved in the briefing, visualisation, and conception of graphic design content, utilising skills such as illustration, typography, photography, and video editing.

You will assist the Creative Design Lead in shaping TLC's online and physical marketing assets.


Key Responsibilities:


Design engaging digital and print marketing materials for TLC: Talk, Listen, Change and the new commercial counselling subsidiary Now You're Talking. Working with the Creative Design Lead, Communications Lead and Digital Marketing Executive to brainstorm ideas and conceptualize in line with brand guidelines.

  • Produce physical leaflets, banners, business cards, booklets, and posters.
  • Design social media graphics.
  • Produce video or web content
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Design presentations
To develop broader skills for your Content Creator Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the following areas with the support of the Creative Design Lead, the Communications Lead and the Digital Marketing Executive:

  • Researching, planning and developing content ideas
  • Implementing and supporting content marketing strategies
  • Support with SEO through blogs
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of content and digital marketing campaigns Through Google analytics and social media metrics.
  • Keeping abreast of new social media sites, technologies, and digital marketing trends and insights; implementing these new technologies and insights in campaigns
Person Specification

Skills required

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Ideally including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro/After Effects. But Photoshop is the most important)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Online platforms (Mailchimp, Canva, Social Media Channels and Scheduling platforms)

Entry requirements

  • A-C (49) English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent

Training to be provided

The Juice Academy is a digital marketing Academy based in Castlefield, Manchester.

They train up to 80 apprentices a year, whilst the apprentices work with businesses around the North West (and sometimes further afield).

The training is delivered by industry professionals from their sister company, Tangerine Communications. The Juice Academy training sessions are a hybrid of face-to-face learning within the acade
