We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Admin Assistant/Typist to join us on a permanent basis.

You will provide a typing service to the clinical services, as well as demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity


You will be a team member providing secretarial and administrative support to the support secretaries and Team leaders in the Acute Paediatrics service.

You will provide a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Respond to requests for information promptly and efficiently using a variety of communication methods, ensuring that Trust Customer Service standards are adhered to.

Ensure information is accurate and meets Trust Standards regarding delivering information.


You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.


This is a very varied role as you will have the opportunity to cover all modalities within Acute Paediatrics including General, Diabetes, Neurology and Neonatal.

The duties and responsibilities listed in the job description should be undertaken in accordance with the levels of competence as defined in the KSF outline for this post.

In addition all staff are expected to act in accordance with the values and behaviours of the Trust

  • Type all clinical correspondence according to clinical priority in line with agreed standards of speed and accuracy and within the locally and nationally agreed timeframes.
  • Promptly file correspondence and investigation results
  • Ensure that all correspondence is checked and digitally signed by the appropriate consultant
  • To prioritise own workload appropriately, referring any service concerns to the Team Leader in a timely manner
  • Maintain good relationships with members of staff, ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
