    Technical Accountant

    This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects involving complex accounting issues like IFRS 9, hedge accounting, securitisations, mergers & acquisitions, and regulatory change initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in managing opportunities and delivering services on complex regulatory change projects (e.g., IFRS 9, Brexit, ESG reporting).
    • Provide technical accounting support and advice on transactions, including structured finance and deal accounting.
    • Analyse transactions and perform detailed accounting analysis, drafting formal accounting opinions when needed.
    • Collaborate to implement new accounting standards and assist with post-implementation reviews, including delivering workshops and training.

    Requirements:

    • Some knowledge of IFRS9 or business combinations or complex transactions.
    • Knowledge of UK/EU banking regulations and the interaction between IFRS and regulatory reporting.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clients and senior stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex accounting projects.
