Description

Are you passionate about high-quality preschool education, with proven leadership skills and the ability to connect inner-city children to nature? We are looking for a dynamic, proactive and experienced early years practitioner. Ideally you will have a love for the outdoors and ability to collaborate with our wonderful team of experienced and passionate staff.
The nursery is a unique community nursery established for nearly 60 years. It is a registered charity overseen by a management committee (MC) made up of parents.

CGN provides a special setting on a conservation site, boasting a wild and magical outdoor garden space, in an historic part of central London.

We pride ourselves on providing children with the opportunity to discover and develop their skills in an outdoor setting with a strong focus on forest school and environmental sustainability.

The practitioner is responsible for the day to day care for children within the nursery.

We are looking for an experienced practitioner to become part of a passionate team of professionals who have a proven track record in excellent early years education for children.

This role requires a strong, communicative, caring and experienced practitioner who has a passion to continuously provide the best early years provision, with a focus on special needs and their developmental requirements.

The nursery is inspired by the ethos of Forest School, so 70% of time is spent outside and is committed to the learning and development of both the staff and the children.

We are a charity that has the potential to reach the wider community through regular events and parent led activities.

The practitioner is vital in ensuring the smooth running of the nursery, providing the highest standards of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual care for all of the children in the setting, and ensuring the standard of care and education delivered meets legislative requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

We believe in developing staff and are keen to provide staff with opportunities for growth and progression into more senior role.

In order to be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate previous experience working with children and demonstrate the ability to manage the needs of children in the nursery and drive their developmental needs forward.

  • Hold a recognised early years qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Have at least two years of experience working as an early years practitioner
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • Be flexible and patient
  • Be able to communicate effectively within a team
  • Be committed to work fulltime
  • Applicants should also have a proactive, imaginative and practical approach to planning and delivering an early years curriculum, excellent communication skills and a commitment to
providing the highest level of service to parents and carers.

Experience of working with Forest School and knowledge is desirable but not essential.

This role has the potential to be a combined EYP and SENCO position.

SENCO training will be covered by the nursery.
