Butler Rose are proud to be exclusively working with our valued tech client, on their Finance Assistant vacancy, in Central Exeter.

The face paced environment requires some with a broad experience of purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, cash management,payment runs and credit cards etc.

Our client offers an incredible 9 day working fortnight, meaning that colleagues can take a paid welfare day every 2 weeks.

The role also has adopted a hybrid working rota with 1-2 days a week in the office.

The role responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Ownership of the sales ledger and purchase ledger finance processes (including raising sales invoices, credit control, processing purchase invoices and supplier payments runs)
  • Managing cash balances and controls on a daytoday basis (including bank reconciliations and monitoring cash inflows and outflows)
  • Processing and maintaining controls for expense claims and credit card expenditure
  • Documenting and embedding transactional finance processes and controls
  • Contributing to the design of new processes and controls to meet requirements of the business during the growth and scaling stage
  • Supporting with month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Working closely with the commercial and operational teams across the business to provide finance support
  • Being the first point of contact into the finance team and providing efficient and effective customer service for both internal colleagues as well as customers and suppliers
  • Completing adhoc analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, finance team projects and wider company decision making

The ideal person will possess the following:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adopt a flexible approach within a small team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with nonfinance colleagues
  • Selfmotivated and proactive approach
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding and experience of transactional finance and finance administrations activities
  • Strong IT and finance system skills
  • Experience of working in a rapidly growing and expanding business
