Description
1.To undertake all duties in line with the training and instruction provided by the Practice Nurses and General Practitioners. 2.Assistance at clinics ensuring patient care by chaperoning. 3.Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record blood pressure and blood sugar levels. 4.The testing and result recording of clinical specimens.


  • Provide assistance in minor operations. 6.Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples when required. 7.Undertake ECG testing. 8.Conduct 24 hour blood pressure tests.
  • Carry out routine patient dressings in accordance with practice guidelines. 10.The collection of clinical waste, ensuring appropriate storage prior to disposal. 11.Carry out general health reviews on patients on the mental health/learning disabilities register. 12.To be responsible for all health promotion materials in the surgery waiting room.
  • The development and maintenance of the themed notice boards within the practice. 14.Assist in ensuring maximum points are achieved in the quality and outcomes framework. 15.The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system. 17.Adhere to infection control procedures 18.This job description is not exhaustive and may be adjusted periodically after review and consultation.
You will also be expected to carry out any reasonable duties which may be requested from time-to-time. 19.Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures. Any other required duties within compotency.
