Overall purpose:


To plan, organize, direct and control the operational resources of area of work in order to provide customer service and operational efficiency in line with contract requirements Service delivery, Health & Safety and the welfare of operatives in their team.


Key Responsibilities

  • To lead the team ensuring all tasks are scheduled and completed on time, showing a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative attitude in all aspects of the job.
  • To ensure that correct manning levels are met including short term and emergency requirements within agreed budgets in conjunction with the Area Housekeeping Services Manager.
  • To ensure that staff are properly trained and monitored in all aspects of the job, including the use of systems, materials and new technology.
  • Ensure an accurate flow of communication in the day to day running of the contract through the use of clear reporting.
  • Manage the supply and issue of uniform to all members of staff on site ensuring adequate levels of stock are held. Ensure the account process for uniform ordering is maintained and within the confines of the budget.
  • Delegate staff efficiently and effectively to maximize their skills in site cleaning to agreed standards.
  • To ensure accurate financial accounting and stock control of all cleaning materials, consumables and waste management services as per the agreed budgets.
  • Accountability for the day to day successful delivery of the service.
  • Own service reporting on SLA's, metrics and other management information where appropriate.
  • Recruit staff in conjunction with the Company Processes and Procedures and in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
  • Induction of all new and transferred staff in accordance with the Client and Company procedures.
  • Motivate staff and manage staff through encouragement, regular appraising and supplying feedback.
  • Review and monitor training and development requirements of staff at regular intervals.
  • Maintain and manage accurate records of sickness and holiday.
  • Completion of absence management processes when required.
  • To ensure that you comply with all Health and Safety requirements as advised by ISS
  • Record customer/supplier complaints/concerns and deal with remedial action as a matter of urgency.
  • To organise, supervise and carry out all weekend periodic tasks and specialist services as detailed on work schedule to agreed standards
  • To be responsible for the performance management of their team
  • To ensure company provided uniform is kept clean, tidy and is worn at all times whilst working.
  • To ensure equipment is kept clean tidy and in a good working order at all times.
  • To ensure faulty equipment/machinery is reported immediately
  • Control and issue of correct PPE, chemicals (COSHH), materials and equipment
  • To carry out general cleaning tasks as detailed on the task allocation sheet, to agreed standard, as directed by the Manager
  • To carry out all tasks with due regard to the contract specification and all legislation including Health and Safety, and Personal Hygiene.
  • To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery / equipment immediately.
  • Always wear identification badge.
  • To attend training as required
  • Reporting all accidents, incidents, Near Hit and dangerous occurrences to your Manager
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the grade of the post

Skills

  • Basic IT experience
  • Excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements

  • It may be necessary to work outside working hours normal contracted hours on including weekends, sometimes more than your contracted hours.
  • Implement and evaluate service changes and manage the change process as appropriated with your service manager.
  • The general pattern of your work could vary according to local requirements.
