Peer Support Coordinator:

- £27,570 per year

  • Full time

This role will work as part of an integrated team with Bridge, BLG Mind and Oxleas NHS Trust.


Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind and Bridge Support
are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the **Greenwich Community Wellbeing
Hub.

**This will form part of the new transformation of mental health services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich under the NHS Long Term Plan.

The service will bring together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.


You will draw on your personal experiences and good communication skills to coordinate and deliver recovery-orientated peer support to people with long-term mental health problems.

This support will enable individuals to access community groups, attend appointments, and generally get them more involved in the community.

A future vision will be to recruit and train volunteers to undertake this work as well.


You will use your knowledge and skills to support you to build good rapport with your clients and ensure your approach is meaningful.

You will need to be organised, resilient and empathetic in supporting clients to achieve their goals.


The role will involve:

  • Line managing Peer Support Workers
  • Recruiting and supporting Peer Support Volunteers
  • Working with a small caseload of clients to provide recoveryorientated peer support to adults with mental health problems
  • Collaborative working with all partners involved in the Community Wellbeing Hub
  • Commitment to regular training and supervision
  • Effective contribution to the development and continuous improvement of the service
